Your Safety is Our Highest Priority

Here at Providence Prosthodontics Dental Group we care deeply about each of you and have worked diligently to ensure that our office and staff have been properly outfitted and trained so that you and your family will remain safe when visiting our office. Under the guidance of the California Department of Public Health, a letter to California Dental Healthcare Personnel was delivered on May 7th, 2020. The letter provided guidance for resuming deferred and preventive dental care. Although we have always met or exceeded guidelines published by OSHA and the CDC the new guidelines have required that we adopt newer standards for the prevention of transmissible disease.

We have procured Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including N95 masks, surgical scrubs, disposable paper gowns, and have installed physical barriers for your safety. Additionally, we further trained our staff on the standardized use of this equipment including the use of sanitization fogger protocols that add an additional layer of cleanliness and security.

Again, your health and well-being continue to be our highest priority. The measures we will be taking to provide a safe dental treatment experience include, but are not limited to, the following:

Upon Your Arrival at the Office

  • Patients and staff will be screened while entering the office. Temperatures will be checked. Any patients or staff showing signs of a fever or other symptoms of illness will be asked to reschedule their appointment.
  • Only patients will be allowed entry into the office unless an accompanying companion is required. Accompanying members not required for assistance will be asked to wait outside whenever possible to help maintain social distancing.
  •  Patients are asked to wait outside the office until their scheduled appointment time.
  • The reception area chairs will be spaced apart to allow for 6 feet of distancing.
  • We will ask that you continue to practice social distancing measures in common areas of the office, including the front desk.
  • The doors between the waiting area and treatment rooms will be propped open all day.
  • Masks are required to be worn at all times in the office except for treatment.
  • We have hand sanitizer stations throughout our office.

During Treatment

  • All rooms will be entirely sanitized before and after each patient is seated, and public areas will be cleaned frequently throughout the day.
  • All treatment rooms have high-volume air filtration and air purification units. The units can remove particles smaller than COVID-19 viruses.
  • The office will be treated each day with an atomizer fogger which administers hypochlorous acid to disinfect office surfaces.
  •  Our team will continue to follow guidelines set forth by the American Dental Association (ADA), California Dental Association (CDA), CDC and OSHA regarding personal protective equipment (PPE) and office sterilization.
  • Our staff will be wearing masks, full garments and dedicated shoes which are sanitized and laundered daily.
  • During patient care requiring generation of aerosols our clinical staff will be wearing N95 masks, goggles, face shields, gloves and full garments which are disposable, changed, or sanitized.
  • All surfaces that met the patient will be wiped with disinfectant including the patient chair and the accessory chair where the patient placed their personal items and/or coat hanger.
  • We will place instruments after each use into an autoclave (a high-pressure steam oven) to kill infectious organism, including coronavirus.
  • We will wash our hands thoroughly and apply antibacterial disinfectant between each patient.

In addition to these standard measures, we will be exercising a higher than normal level of infection-control and social distancing for the foreseeable future. While we adore and value each of our patients, handshakes and hugs are no longer appropriate and may be replaced with a bow, wave, or possibly an “elbow bump” for the time being.

While we are doing everything in our power to protect you, we also ask for your cooperation in making our office environment a safe one when you visit us. If you have a cough, fever, or chills, please call our office to discuss when you should reschedule. We will be checking temperatures on all patients as they enter the office and anyone with a reading over 99.9 degrees will be asked to reschedule at least three weeks later as a precaution.

Should you wish to discuss your future dental care or have any questions about treatment and whether you should schedule an appointment, please do not hesitate to call us at 714-771-7555. We will provide personalized conversations regarding your individual dental needs and will review with you in detail our infectious disease/COVID 19 control procedures.
