COVID-19 Update

Dear Patients and Friends of Providence Dental Group.

We hope this finds you healthy, happy and safe. This is an update of our activities in response to the Covid-19 concerns. We appreciate that this is the time of uncertainty and anxiousness for everybody. There is no precedent in history that we can use as a model to predict our future. We hope you’re staying indoors and remain safe.

There is good news that the Senate today approved a $2 trillion dollar emergency relief package that should benefit hospitals, individuals, and small business.

Governor Newsome’s California quarantine will likely be extended until April 6th. As you may know we closed operations March 16 with the intention of starting back March 30. Now we are looking at retuning April 6th but it might be April 13th. We will not open our offices for patient care, other than for critical emergencies, until we are certain that our patients and staff are totally protected in a safe environment.

Rest assured we are here for you should you have an emergency. Our doctors are on call 24 hour/ 7 day a week and can be reached through the answering service at (714) 771-7555. In regards to starting operations back up, we are committed to your safety and health.

  • We will take patient’s temperatures prior to treatment and screen for travel, symptoms, or exposure prior to scheduling.

  • We will not see patients without proper PPE’s for everyone in direct patient care. As you are aware these may not be available for quite some time until the hospital shortage is alleviated. That has the obvious priority. This will be the principle factor determining our return to safely providing patient care.

  • We continue to monitor the Center of Disease Control and California Dental Association guidelines as they are changing frequently.

  • Upon return we will continue to use universal standard precautions and will sterilize all instruments, and cover disinfect all room surfaces between visits.

At this point in time it is premature to plan exact dates of a return. You will receive text, email, or call to cancel or reschedule if you have an appointment prior to April 6th. We are looking forward to resuming normal activities as soon as possible.

We are committed to your personal safety and health and hope you are practicing social distancing. Remember that transmission of the Coronavirus requires human interaction with a person or infected surface. Wash your hands and don’t touch surfaces. Remember, unless you have been tested and are told that you are negative for the virus, you can’t presume you don’t have it. Not all people who have contracted Coronavirus experience symptoms. In fact, many who do show symptoms don’t exhibit them for days after being exposed and are unknowingly contagious.

Yes, these are trying times and we hope that you and your families all get through these times.

Our warmest regards and concerns,

David Guichet DDS
