As one of the few practices in the area with its own dental laboratory, we can provide lifelike crowns, bridges, dentures, and veneers that will blend flawlessly with your smile. Having an on-site dental lab not only allows the doctors at our practice to provide beautiful restorations made of advanced materials, it also enables us to improve turnaround times and create and place restorations during a single appointment. CAD/CAM stands for computer-aided design and computer-aided manufacturing. Combining advanced 3-D imaging with an in-office milling machine, this technology allows us to create lifelike same-day crowns and other restorations. When you undergo a same-day restorative treatment at our practice, we will take 3-D impressions of your teeth. Then, using a special computer program, we can manipulate these images to design your restoration. During the planning process, we will keep you fully informed, and we can show you the images on computer monitors. After the design phase, the images will be uploaded to a milling machine. This device is very similar to a 3-D printer. It will produce a custom porcelain restoration, typically in an hour or less. Your dentist will then make sure it fits correctly before completing treatment.
The on-staff Ceramist at our dental lab uses some of the most advanced materials available, including Zirconia porcelain and IPS e.max®. These materials are both extremely durable and lifelike. Using IPS e.max® enables us to craft thinner restorations, helping them to adhere to teeth more securely. In addition, we proudly offer the Prettau® Anterior® bridge. Made of a special type of zirconia and supported by dental implants, the Prettau® Anterior® bridge is considered to be one of the finest restorations available.
“Having an on-site dental lab not only allows the doctors at our Orange, CA, practice to provide beautiful restorations made of advanced materials, it also enables us to improve turnaround times and create and place restorations during a single appointment.”
Our practice has invested in a comprehensive range of dentistry tools so that we can provide the highest level of care and ensure our patients’ lasting satisfaction. One such tool we utilize is the TRIOS® intraoral scanner. In addition to taking optical impressions of your teeth, this device can also measure the precise shade of your smile. Our CAD/CAM milling machine is manufactured by Zirkonzahn®, widely considered to be the top brand in restorative dentistry.
Having access to such a broad range of technological innovations can benefit you in several ways. One of the most significant benefits is an increased turnaround time creating restorations. Furthermore, we have a dedicated ceramist who draws upon extensive experience and training to create restorations that are virtually indistinguishable from natural teeth.
Finally, our in-office laboratory gives us greater flexibility. Many offices that offer same-day care are only able to provide single-tooth restorations. Thanks to our advanced technology, we can often restore multiple teeth in one appointment and perform on-site adjustments when necessary.
Our high-tech dental lab truly sets Providence Prosthodontics Dental Group apart from other practices. To learn more about our advanced technology, schedule an appointment today.
